Hello everyone, this is David Yoder. I’m coming to you from the research farm here in Garden City, Missouri. We’re going to talk a little bit about organic corn.

This year has been a really tough year for everybody. One big takeaway – especially for organics – is the importance of In-furrow applications. It helps to get that corn up and out of the ground and growing good and ahead of that week pressure. And of course our burners to help with weed control were important. Of course timing is always important.

On our burning, we burned our corn early again. It worked really well for us and got that corn out above the weeds and set the weeds back. Then we came back – on some corn we came back later where we needed to burn again. I would say on 50% of it that first burning took care of our weed problems in-row.

This year, with Mother Nature throwing all the water and cool weather at us early in-furrow applications played a really big part. We’ve got some really good in-furrow products. Our liquid chicken litter works really well and gets us up out of the ground. If you want more information I think we have some yield trials getting ready to come out. We’ll have those out – I would say within the next week or so we will have some pretty good data and see how we did this year.

If you have any questions or comments give us a call. We would love to talk to you.
