Corn Harvest at the Farm Research Center in Garden City, Missouri

Corn Harvest at the Farm Research CenterIt’s that time of year again. Time to tune up the combine, put the corn head on, and go cut some corn.

Here at the Farm Research Center in Garden City, Missouri, we plant corn for a couple of different reasons. The first reason being that we do quite a lot of extensive research on corn for the purpose of understanding how our High Yield Products impact plant health, and consequently, overall corn yields. Two ingredients in our High Yield Corn success story are:

1) BP In-Furrow – A liquid in-furrow application that delivers vital nutrients to the seed to aid in germination and emergence. Our studies show consistent yield increases season after season with this product. You can read more about how we achieved a 25% corn increase on the Boden Farm by clicking here.

2) Soy100 – An all natural, 100% organic pesticide that deters bugs and pests, and plays a key role in reducing insect pressure across your corn crop.

Here is a graph that shows our BP In-Furrow Product at work:

Corn Harvest at the Farm Research CenterThe other reason reason we plant corn on our Research Farm is when a seed company wants to see how well their variety produces at our location. In this instance we are hired to plant, treat, maintain, and harvest for them. After that we aggregate the data and give it back to them in a fancy report. Sometimes our customer will want us to try our yield enhancing products on a portion of their plot, too. That makes the relationship a win-win for everyone.

This location is just one of several locations that we’ll be harvesting in the next week or so. We will be posting the data from many of our plots as soon as we get the numbers in, so stay tuned.
